At Episcopal High School class sizes are small, typically 10 to 12 students, allowing teachers to actively involve students in discussions, draw out their thoughts, and focus on special areas of interest or need. EHS faculty members usually teach four sections, or a total of 40 to 50 students at any given time. They have time to get to know each student's special gifts and needs and provide extra support or opportunities as warranted. Faculty members interact with students in a number of different roles. They are not only teachers, but are also coaches, advisors, and members of a dorm team. All provide mentoring relationships and support for students.

  • On-Call Substitute Teachers

    Job Summary: EHS seeks substitute teachers to add to our on-call list. We seek people who hold a B.A. or higher, who have experience with teenagers, and who are willing to step in with confidence and cheer when a teacher needs to be out of school.

  • HVAC Technician

  • Health Center Liaison/Driver

    Episcopal High School is seeking several mature adults to serve as Health Center Liaisons to be available for the transportation and chaperoning of students to and from the EHS deButts Health and Wellness Center to health care appointments and urgent care facilities in Northern Virginia and Washington DC. Liaisons must be available to drive students to appointments with advance notice, as well as to urgent appointments or emergency room visits on the same day. Liaisons should be available Monday through Thursday, and Sunday, 8 am – 11 pm, and Friday and Saturday, 8 am - 12 am. A member of the health center staff will contact the liaison for transportation needs prior to scheduled appointments or urgent care visits to check on availability. There will be occasional need for multiple trips on the same day. Typical duration of a single trip is 1-4 total hours. Each liaison will use their own vehicle.

    Essential duties and responsibilities:
    • Picking up a student from the EHS Health Center
    • Drive the student to an appointment
    • Accompany the student into the appointment and obtain information from the medical provider to relay back to the EHS Health Center staff
    • Return the student to the EHS Health Center, communicate with EHS Health Center staff and, on occasion, communicate with the student’s parent or guardian
    • Provide a professional appearance and excellent customer service as the chaperone to the student
    Compensation & Reimbursement:
    Liaisons are paid $20.00 per hour from the time they pick up the student through the time they return to campus, including time spent relaying information to the EHS Health Center staff. Mileage driven from the EHS campus, to appointments, and back to campus, is eligible for reimbursement.

    Successful candidates must be/possess:
    • English speaking with good communication skills
    • Comfortable in health care settings
    • Comfortable with adolescents
    • Comfortable with driving directions and/or utilizing GPS systems.
    • Professional personal presentation
    • Demonstrates dependability and punctuality
    • Reliable, trustworthy, and respectful of confidentiality
